About Us
Paul and I would like to welcome you to Almond House Backpackers in Nelson. Hi! I'm Fiona and together with Paul and our three young"helpers", we have owned Almond House for the past three years.
Before this, Paul and I lived in England and travelled through Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, East Africa, Mexico and parts of Asia. We know that at the end of a long days drive, or a day out sightseeing, what a traveller really appreciates is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere - a place where you can connect with other travellers, sharing a glass of wine or a meal, talking about your journeys through New Zealand and beyond!
Over the past three years we have worked hard to create a "home
away from home" for our guests. We have upgraded the kitchens and
bathrooms, we've redecorated our guest bedrooms, and very importantly,
we bought new beds and mattresses to ensure you have a restful stay. We
are proud of our small and friendly backpackers and we look forward to
you staying with us!
